Gaterol Active Lite
The safety gate Gaterol Active Lite protects your baby from falling down the stairs. The barrier can be installed inside or in front of the door opening or at the top or the bottom of the staircase. The operation of the unit is simple and at the same time child-proof. It can be mounted in very narrow and wide passages from 45 cm to 140 cm. An additional set of brackets is included with the delivery. This allows the alternate usage of the guard and it can be installed at two different locations. The guard can be installed inside the house as well as outdoors, e.g., the patio. The Gaterol is also a suitable barrier for dogs and other pets. If not required, simply roll up the unit. Its space requirements are minimal. As for all roll-up guards, simply drill a few holes and use screws to attach the Gaterol to the wall or the door frame. This type of attachment is particularly sturdy and secure.
Safety guards protect your child
Risk of falling down the stairs – children under the age of 2 are particularly vulnerable. At the young age of a child, falling is one of the most occurring accidents. Between the ages 1 to 5, falling down the stairs is considered the most occurring mishap.
In order to prevent a baby from falling down the stairs, we highly recommend to install the appropriate roll-up guard at the bottom or the top of a stairs. This will prevent the child from accessing these dangerous areas. Sometimes it is necessary to prevent babies from entering certain areas of the house. These rooms must be separated with barriers.
Bolts are safer than clamps
Using appropriate fasteners makes the guards sturdy and safe. If your little ones rattle and shake a guard that is simply clamped in place, or try to pull themselves up and attempt to climb over the barrier, this will most likely cause a barrier to collapse. This is especially dangerous if the guard is installed at the top of the stairs. Barriers that are clamped into place must be inspected continuously for their stability since they come loose very often. Using fasteners for the barrier and roll-up unit is a considerably safer method.
A stair guard roll-up unit does not offer your child the opportunity to climb over it, and your baby's little hands cannot be jammed or pinched. Since there are no metal screen bars, head injuries are prevented should your child exhibit a temper tantrum.
Avoiding tripping hazards makes life safer
Imagine your baby including the barrier tumbling down the stairs or the mother carrying her child trips and is severely injured. This is a painful image that all parents want to avoid. There are many tripping hazards that can be prevented by avoiding safety barriers that are clamped and not bolted in place. Therefore, always use drilled-in safety barriers when installing the guard at the staircase. When you make that decision, remember that the safety guard will be in use for an extended period of time and that visitors or older siblings must know how to operate the barrier.
Installation
A drilled assembly is indeed the safest method to install a stair guard. Installation instructions are included with the delivery and convenient drill patterns make it easy to indicate the position of the bolts. The retainer brackets for the Gaterol Active Lite are fastened (bolts supplied) into the wall or the door frame. The safety gate can be installed inside as well as outside the door frame. You may also install the barrier on corners. In this case, the Gaterol Active Lite roll-up barrier is simply hooked into the retainer brackets.
You wish to use as few drilling holes as possible?
If drilling a stair guard into the wall (not clamping it), use a small wooden block, drill 2 holes into the wall, insert 2 wall anchors and screw in the wooden block. Subsequently, you may use any number of holes to fasten the safety barrier to the wooden block.
